Rangers coach Steven Gerrrad applauded Leon Balogun after the defender showed an excellent showing in Saturday's 1-0 win over Aberdeen, Completesports.com reported.
Balogun, who recently joined the Gers, performed very well in Pittordie.
The Nigerian international, at one point, collided with the post, but managed to play the entire duration of the game.
"You get nothing without [warriors], that's why I like them. I love number 10, I love people who shine, I love skills, I love people who entertain, but you need leaders, you need warriors and you need people who put your body at risk, ”Gerrard told Rangers TV.
“I thought we saw both sides of our game today – we played lovely football, but when we had to dig deep and when we had to be together, and when we had to put our bodies at risk, all, to one man, give it up.
“At Leon's debut, outside of Pittodrie, being at the door a week was excellent and I am very pleased with him.
"He received a round of applause in the dressing room, which was well deserved."
