Update- Europa League: Aribo In Action As Leverkusen Knock Rangers Out; Wolves Qualify For Quarter-Final

Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo was in action for Rangers in the 1-0 defeat by Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League round of 16 second leg match on Thursday. Completesports.com reports.

Aribo played 90 minutes for Rangers, but Eagles teammate Leon Balogun was not in the Rangers squad for the game.


Leverkusen reached the quarter-finals 4-1 in total, after winning the first leg 3-1 in Scotland.

The German side will face Serie A giants Inter Milan in the round of 16.


In another round of 16, played on Thursday, Sevilla beat AS Roma 2-0 in a one leg game.

Sergio Reguilon opened the scoring for Sevilla in the 22nd minute, before Youssef En-Nesyri increased the lead in the 44th minute.


At Molineaux, Wolverhampton Wanderers beat Olympiakos 1-0 and advanced to the quarter-finals.

A nine-minute penalty from Raul Jimenez allowed the Wolves to go 2-1 in total and face Sevilla.

And the Swiss team from Basel defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 1-0 and moved on to the next round 4-0 in total.

The quarterfinal matches will be played on 10 and 11 August 2020.
