Before residing in nursing homes, they were our workers, teachers, engineers and administrative staff.
Some were singers and others were boxers. Some were parents, grandparents and even great-grandparents. Now they died after contracting coronavirus in their homes.
Figures from the Office of National Statistics show that between 10 and 24 April, 4,343 deaths from Covid-19 were reported in nursing homes. Meanwhile, frustration continues to grow among operators, employees and relatives that the government underestimates the seriousness of the spread of the virus being treated.
