President Trump continues to insist he does not know Lev Parnas, an associate of Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani, who now says Trump was aware of efforts to sink dirt into political rivals.

Speaking in the Oval Office, Trump said he knew nothing about Parnas, whom he posed in photographs.

Trump said he takes thousands of photos at fundraising events, but suggested that doesn't mean he knows Parnas.

Trump said he did not believe he had spoken to Parnas.

He added that he was "likely" to attend the World Economic Forum in Davos, although the event coincided with his impeachment trial.

Some context here: Parnas – a central figure in Ukraine's alleged White House pressure campaign He said yesterday that Trump "knew exactly what was going on," despite his repeated denials of wrongdoing.

"He was aware of all my movements. I would do nothing without the consent of Rudy Giuliani, or the president." Parnas told Rachel Maddow of MSNBC. "I have no intention, I have no reason, to talk to any of these officers."

Parnas said it was he who "performed" the work of Trump and Giuliani, "and that is the secret they are trying to keep."
