When other traditional brands such as Samsung, Huawei and Motorola were playing around with the idea of foldable smartphones, Xiaomi decided to take a different approach to the concept. Xiaomi introduced Mi Mix Alpha in China last year. A smartphone that comes with an immersive screen!
It was launched at a starting price of CNY 19,999 (approximately Rs 2.00,000). This smartphone was recently shown in India at a media meeting, which makes us predict that the device may debut soon in the Indian market.
Xiaomi has also sparked a Mi Mix Alpha image on its official twitter page this gives us more reason to believe that it could be launched in India soon. The company also shared a short smartphone teaser video on twitter.

A dedicated Mi Mix Alpha page was also launched in official website of the company in India who provided all the detailed specifications of the phone.
We also contacted Raghu Reddy, head of categories at Xiaomi India, to learn more about the arrival of the Mi Mix Alpha to the market, and were told: "We are evaluating the commercial launch of the Mi MIX Alpha globally and also in India. Currently, there is only one line production line capable of making the Mi MIX Alpha, which is in China. China's price is CNY 19,999, so in India, after adding import duties, customs duties and other expenses, the cost would be approximately Rs 2.50,000 . "
Although Xiaomi has given many tips on the launch of the phone in India, we still have an official launch date.
Mi Mix Alpha Specifications
The "surround screen" on the Alpha fully surrounds the device to the point where there is a thin strip on the back that houses cameras without the screen. This effect makes it appear that the Mi Mix Alpha is entirely composed of a screen with status icons such as network signal and battery level displayed on the side. Since there are no buttons on the device, the phone has pressure-sensitive volume buttons that provide tactile feedback to the user, just like the Vivo Nex 3.
The Mi Mix Alpha will also use Samsung's latest 108 MP camera sensor, which was co-developed with Xiaomi. As the screen surrounds the phone, the device does not have a selfie camera and uses the rear camera to take selfies. There is also a 20 MP ultra wide-angle and 12 MP telephoto lens.
Under the hood, we can see that the Mi Mix Alpha is equipped with the latest Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset and has 12 GB of RAM, 512 GB of storage, fast charging with 40 W wire and a 4,050 mAh battery. The phone also supports 5G as well.
