The new streaming wars: tech giants are fighting for the top gaming stars

When Jeremy Wang started broadcasting on Twitch in 2016, he was a stranger in his early twenties, with some stages of coding. Almost nobody knew his name or what he was like. The latter, at least, was planned: Wang, now 28, wore a mask everywhere – playing video games at competitive events or coming out of a closet while visiting his sister in New York.
