BEIJING (Reuters) – American electric vehicle maker Tesla Inc (TSLA.O) said on Thursday that it started producing Long Range Model 3 vehicles at its Shanghai plant and intended to deliver them to customers soon.

The company said the model would sell for 344,050 yuan ($ 48,495), keeping the price stable even after China stopped offering generous subsidies starting in July for electric vehicles that cost more than 300,000 yuan.

Currently, the starting price of model 3 in the cheapest Standard range is 271,550 yuan after the subsidy.
