The Supreme Court docket has indicated its resolution to ship judgments round 5pm on Tuesday within the appeals difficult the result of final governorship elections in Imo and Sokoto states

A seven-man panel of the court docket, led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Ibrahim Muhammd, stated judgment shall be delivered afterward Tuesday.

Justice Muhammed made the announcement after legal professionals adopted their briefs within the six appeals filed in respect of each states.


There are 4 within the Imo State dispute. Ifeanyi Ararume, who was the candidate of APGA within the election, filed one Hope Uzodinma (who contested on the platform of the APC) filed one; Uche Nwosu (who contested underneath Motion Alliance, AA) filed one, whereas the incombent, Emeka Ihedioha (of the PDP) filed one.

There are two appeals within the Sokoto State dispute. The principle attraction was filed by the APC candidate, Ahmed Aliyu, whereas the incumbent, Aminu Tambuwal, of the PDP, filed a cross-appeal.

Earlier than the court docket rose a second in the past, Justice Muhammad stated the court docket will reconvene within the subsequent one and half or two hours to ship its judgments.
