The Supreme Court affirmed the election of Samuel Ortom as governor of the State of Benue.
Emmanuel Jime, of the All Progressives Congress (APC), had brought Ortom to court for allegations of over-voting and other bad electoral practices during the 2019 government elections.
But in a unanimous judgment rendered by Judge Sylvester Ngwuta on Tuesday, the main court agreed with the simultaneous findings of the electoral petitions court and the Court of Appeal that Ortom was the winner of the election.
In another trial handed down by Judge Mohammed Datijo, the main court confirmed the election of Ahmadu Fintiri as governor of the state of Adamawa.
The court found that the appellant was unable to prove the allegation of over-voting and other infractions he listed in his petition.
