Mr. Patrick, who is from Esan's local government area in southeastern Edo State, died after an illness and has been hospitalized for the past two weeks.
Osimhen's mother passed away in October 2011 and the player is the last child in the family with seven children.
The former Wolfsburg player had an impressive debut season with The Mastiffs, after scoring 18 goals in 38 matches since joining them last summer with Belgian team Sporting Charleroi.
He scored 13 goals in the French Ligue 1, as Christophe Galtier's team finished fourth. In September 2019, he won the French Ligue 1 Player of the Month gong for his sterling performances.
Osimhen won bronze with Nigeria at the 2019 African Nations Cup (AFCON) in Egypt, presenting only in the third place play-off against Tunisia.
