Skoda Auto Volkswagen India announced that it has resumed production at its Aurangabad facility and has started work as part of the India 2.0 project activities at the Pune facility. Production at the Pune facility will resume from 1 June.
The company made this decision after receiving permission from local authorities and the state government of Maharashtra. A set of guidelines was initiated before resuming work to ensure the safety of all employees while working in the post-lockout world. Both facilities will follow all safety guidelines established by the company to reduce the risk of contracting the virus.
The Aurangabad facility resumed work initially with a leaner workforce and will produce the new Superb and gradually increase production while closely monitoring the situation. The 60-point safety initiative includes safety measures, such as regular checking of body temperature, wearing a mask and gloves at all times, maintaining a safe distance between colleagues, virtual training, working at home for pregnant women and monitoring the health of employees through Aarogya Setu App.
