Saka On Target As Arsenal Beat Wolves Keep UCL Qualification Hopes

Bukayo Saka scored his first Premier League goal as Arsenal kept their hopes in Champions League football with a 2-0 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux, reports.

Substitute Alexandre Lacazette doubled Arsenal's lead to score a goal outside the Premier League for the first time since February 2019.

Saka is the seventh youngest player to score a Premier League goal for Arsenal in club history.

The wolves dominated possession in the first half, with João Moutinho and Ruben Neves in the foreground.

But it was Arsenal who had the best opportunity to take the lead on 35 minutes, but Eddie Nketiah was denied, as his shot was interrupted by a combination of Rui Patricio and the post.

However, Saka made no mistake two minutes before the break, reaching the wide area and crossing the deflected cross by Kieran Tierney, passing by Patricio.

In the 64th minute, Adama Traore was sent wide of the goal, just to make a harmless shot on the crossbar.

And in the 86th minute, Arsenal secured the three points, thanks to Lacazette, with his clever finish, delivered his first away win to an opponent in the upper half of the season and secured the fourth consecutive victory for Arteta's men.

The Gunners have now kept both Premier League goalless games away for the first time since February 2016.

The defeat was Wolves for the first time since January 2020.

Arsenal are now in seventh with 49 points and six points from fourth position.
