Operatives of the Financial and Monetary Crimes Fee, EFCC, on Wednesday, took away 4 ‘Ghana-must-go’ baggage suspected to include cash, from the Zamfara State workplace of the Unbiased Nationwide Electoral Fee, INEC.
They had been stated to be within the workplace in Gusau, in continuation of its investigation over alleged non-payment of advert hoc workers who performed the 2019 basic elections.
Eye witnesses stated that the EFCC Operatives arrived the workplace round midday, with closely armed personnel, and ransacked the power for near 2 hours.
They stated that each one the 4 baggage and a few paperwork had been allegedly recovered from the workplace of the Accountant.
Some INEC Officers who had been earlier arrested by the EFCC, had been introduced alongside throughout the two-hour search, and had been afterwards taken again into custody.
A petition to the EFCC by Abdullahi Nasiru, one of many advert hoc workers, has alleged that they had been shortchanged by INEC to the tune of over N80 million, within the allowances paid to them after the final elections, when in comparison with what was paid to the advert hoc workers in different States.
The EFCC Operatives and INEC Officers, refused to answer questions from Newsmen after the search.
