The minority group in the Chamber of Deputies asked Muslims to use the celebration of Eid-el-fitr to activate the much-desired national revival and regeneration.
Minority Caucus congratulated Nigerians on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast.
In its sallah message signed by the minority leader of the house, Ndudi Elumelu, the committee said that “Eid-el-fitr presents the nation with a new opportunity for national regeneration in all aspects of life, especially when we collectively fight to defeat the COVID -19 pandemic.
“As a nation, we must use this period for deep introspection and revive the virtues of forgiveness, tolerance, love for one another and a commitment to the stability and progress of our beloved nation and humanity in general.
"In fact, the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, as well as our commitment to prayers and supplications during the period, strongly confirm our individual and collective trust in God in determining to stand out as a united people."
Elumelu expressed confidence that, with such determination, unity and trust in God, the nation will definitely overcome all its challenges and once again stand out among the community of nations and urged Nigerians to spread the joy of reaching Eid-el-fitr by reaching each other at this critical time.
The committee also asks Nigerians to ensure that they strictly follow all COVID-19 health security protocols, while observing Eid-el-fitr.
