The PLATEAU state government on Thursday downloaded the Coronavirus state index case (COVID-19) from one of its isolation centers at Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH).

The Nigeria News Agency (NAN) reports that the patient was confirmed positive for the virus on April 23, 2020, after the test was conducted on April 17, 2020.

JUTH's infectious disease consultant doctor, Dr. Nathan Shehu, who confirmed the patient's recovery and discharge, said the treatment was "successful".

“The patient has recovered and is able to reintegrate into the community. It no longer poses a risk.

“The patient came asymptomatic; after treatment, their samples were collected and all are negative. Then, she is discharged and can go home.

“The advice we are going to give her is the same as we are going to give to those in the community. She must maintain social distance, respiratory and cough etiquette and hand hygiene, ”he said.
