PDP Govs instructs INEC, security agencies in credible elections

Governors-elect on the Democratic Peoples Party (PDP) platform accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of ensuring that the September 19 elections in Edo state are free, fair and credible.

Governors, under the aegis of the PDP Governors Forum, also asked security agencies and other stakeholders to maintain neutrality and safeguard the sanctity of the vote.

In a statement released on Friday by its director general, Cyril Maduabum, the PDP Governors' Forum also called for Nigerians and civil society organizations to be vigilant, ensuring that all votes are counted and counted.

Governors praised what they described as the leadership skills of Governor Godwin Obaseki, saying his emergence as a PDP flag bearer in the election was a testament to his leadership qualities.

The Forum ordered the governor to continue to use his administrative skills to unite the Edo chapter of the PDP and face the task of enthroning good governance and accountability for the good of the people.

Governors also advised him to be magnanimous enough to embrace the other three aspirants who left him during the primary election and to see them as ongoing partners.

The Forum also thanked the leadership of the PDP for being able to amicably resolve the conflict that ensued between the aspirants in the struggle for party membership.

The statement further said: "The PDP Governors' Forum, under the leadership of His Excellency, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, congratulates Governor Godwin Obaseki for his emergence as the PDP's flag bearer in the elections for the Edo state government, scheduled for September 2020.

“His victory in the primaries is an affirmation of the confidence that the people of the Edo State have in their
ability to direct the state ship positively for another four years and to record her sterling
performance in the position in his current term.

“This victory must be humiliating, since it was achieved in the context of a grave injustice done to him by his former political party, the APC, and a demonstration of God's role in men's affairs. It is indeed a call to continue to serve the good people of the Edo State faithfully.

“This victory is all the more remarkable when His Excellency joined the PDP just a few weeks ago, and it is a testament to his leadership skills that he managed to get all the other aspirants who started the race before him at the PDP to resign and join he. him in saving the state without bitterness or bitterness.

“We hope that he will continue to implement this management skill in bringing PDP and Edo staff together in the great task of enthroning good governance and accountability in the State of Edo.
