O Ondo State The government said on Saturday that all unclaimed corpses in state morgues will receive mass burial next month.
State Health Commissioner Dr. Wahab Adegbenro, who released this in a statement issued by his press officer, Abooluwa Famakinwa in Akure, urged the relatives of the deceased to come and claim them and bury the bodies.
The commissioner said the move was to decongest government morgues across the state.
The statement said: In an attempt to decongest morgues in government hospitals in Ondo, the state government issued a month-long ultimatum for the burial of corpses in all government morgues across the state. "
Adegbenro said the government is not insensitive to people's culture, traditions and feelings, adding that the ultimatum is in the best of people.
"At the end of a month, all unclaimed and unburied corpses in government morgues across the state can receive mass burial," the statement added.
