Offa financial institution robberies: Suspect alleges police killed Adikwu – The Punch

Lead prosecuting counsel, Prof Wahab Egbewole,  sought to tender the statements as displays however Emeribe objected.

Emeribe argued that the accused  didn’t volunteer their statements which the prosecution wished to tender earlier than the courtroom, noting that they fell in need of the provisions of the Proof Act, significantly sections 28 and 29.

On the resumed listening to on Friday,  Akinnibosun stated,  “Abba Kyari informed me to  say that  the Senate President Bukola Saraki  gave me the weapons  we  used  for the operations. However I declined.

“He (Abba Kyari) promised that they would reward me handsomely and set me free if I could indict Saraki. When I disagreed,  they asked some policemen to take me back to the cell. During this time,  my hands were tied to my legs.”

The suspect stated he was the chief of Kwara South Liberation Motion mobilising younger jobless graduates for the consultant of  Kwara South on the Senate, Dr Rafiu Ibrahim.

The trio additionally claimed Inspector Vincent shot lifeless 5 Fulani males after they have been saved on the IRT ‘theatre room’.

They added that it was in the identical ‘theatre room that Inspector Vincent, popularly identified  as Mr Torture, allegedly shot lifeless Adikwu for failing to indict them.

Ogunleye  stated “they brought the late Adikwu to implicate us and he said he had not met any of us in his life – that was  why Mr Torture shot him to death.”

The trial Decide, Justice Halimat Salman,  adjourned the case until  March 25, 2019 for the continuation of trial inside trial.
