The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has warned candidates against fake recruitment sites, as no fees have been charged for recruiting NIS.
Controller General, NIS, Muhammad Babandede, gave the warning in a statement by the Service Relations Relations Officer (SPEO), Sunday James, on Tuesday in Abuja.
Babandede issued the warning by reacting to the reported existence of fake NIS sites on social media.
“These are fraudsters with the intention of defrauding innocent and innocent Nigerians.
“The Service had warned several times and is still warning Nigerians in a good mood to avoid this false recruitment offer, which is not officially published on the official NIS website.
"No fee is charged for recruiting NIS," he said.
Babandede advised the public to disregard the recently posted coup, to avoid the fall of victims of criminal elements.
He said that NIS would always announce its recruitment and official notifications through credible Nigerian newspapers and media platforms for public attention.
The Nigeria News Agency (NAN) reports that the Civil Defense, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Council (CDCFIB) published the recruitment announcement in national newspapers on March 13.
Recruitment lasted four weeks after publication.
