Nigerian government dismisses false allegations of planned absorption of N-POWER beneficiaries in the public service

O Federal government on Saturday it rejected the report that it was taking steps to absorb N-POWER volunteers in the public service.

Deputy Director of Information at the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Rhoda Ishaku Iliya, in a statement in Abuja, asked the public to ignore the report that President Muhammadu Buhari would announce the absorption of volunteers on June 12. .

He added that any information about N-POWER or the National Social Investment Program (NSIP) would be broadcast through the appropriate federal government channels.

The statement said: “The attention of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development was attracted by trends in fake news on social media that President Muhammadu Buhari will transmit on June 12 to the country the absorption of N-POWER Lot A volunteers, in the Federal Civil Service.

“The ministry is inviting the public to disregard the message and consider it to be false news.

"Any information about N-POWER or the National Social Investment Program will be sent through the appropriate channels of the federal government."
