NASCAR race weather: How long will rain in Darlington forecast delay Thursday’s Xfinity Series race?

NASCAR fans finally got a taste of racing for the first time in more than two months on Sunday, when Kevin Harvick won the Real Heroes 400 at the Darlington Raceway. But the next NASCAR race, which will be held in Darlington, S.C., an Xfinity Series event, was not uninterrupted.

The Xfinity race in Darlington, which was originally scheduled to start on Tuesday at 6pm. According, Darlington, S.C.'s hourly forecast on Thursday calls for scattered thunderstorms throughout the afternoon. There was a 25% chance of precipitation at noon, when the Xfinity race was scheduled to start.

Rain and lightning delayed the start of the race, and the chance of bad weather in the area only increases throughout the afternoon, reaching a 70% chance of precipitation at 5pm. local time.
