The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) proposes the establishment of special courts in the country to try sex offenders.

According to NAPTIP director general Julie Donli-Okah, the special courts will allow for a speedy trial of all persons accused of rape.

DG NAPTIP made the comments in a press interview in Abuja on Wednesday.

She also expressed concern about state governments not adopting the Violence against People Act, noting that such states are inadvertently promoting sexual violence in their domain.
