A former Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Ghali Umar Na & # 39; Abba, was released on Friday from the isolation center where he has been since his return from the United Kingdom.
At Abba, which returned to the country on May 8, immediately began a 14-day quarantine, in accordance with protocols from the Nigeria Disease Control Center (NCDC), COVID-19 pandemic.
However, the former speaker was discharged from the isolation center after having tested negative for the virus.
The NCDC also confirmed the release of Na & # 39; Abba from the isolation center by means of a letter signed by the center's director general, Chikwe Ihekweazu and a director of the Public Health Service (PHS).
The former Kano-State-born congressman also confirmed to reporters on Saturday that he returned home after his discharge from the isolation center.
The letter said: “This is to certify that Ghali Na & # 39; Abba observed the quarantine period (14 days) under the supervision of staff at the Nigeria Disease Control Center and was certified negative for COVID-19 to this day, 22 May 2020.
“He is free to pick up his international passport and travel back to his destination.
"Please allow any interstate movement to your destination."
