Minor league stadium doubling as Airbnb location, entertainment hub

A smaller league team is taking advantage of the idea that the club is like a second home.

Blue Wahoos of Pensacola (Florida), the Twin-A affiliate of the twins (Southern League), is listing its place, Blue Wahoos Stadium, on Airbnb for $ 1,500 a night, plus taxes, for up to 10 guests. Food / drink packages, merchandise and "additional experiences" are extra.

The club's ad says the rental is "the most intimate behind-the-scenes experience in history."

Availability is open, because regular occupants will not be back for a while. There is a fear in professional baseball that the 2020 minor league season will be canceled by the coronavirus.

Since there are no games, there is no revenue; therefore, the Blue Wahoos team took advantage of this and other ways to earn money while not being able to fully perform their daytime (nighttime) work. There was a youth baseball tournament and a movie / fireworks night only on Saturday ("Frozen II" was the choice of the film) Other events include weekend golf (PGA star Bubba Watson owns the team), happy hour, trivia night and limited food service.

But giving people the direction of the place will attract more attention and a good amount of money. The home of the Blue Wahoos is your home.
