Lionel Messi "will end his professional and football life in Barcelona," said the club president.
Josep Maria Bartomeu dismissed reports the Argentine international, 33, was not willing to renew his current contract when it expires in 2021.
"We are negotiating with many players, but Messi has explained to us that he wants to stay," Bartomeu told Spanish network Movistar.
"And then we will enjoy it for much longer."
Bartomeu was speaking after the 4-1 of the Catalan club La Liga wins at Villareal on Sunday night, that saw them narrow the gap to leader Real Madrid by four points.
Before, Sergio Ramos was awarded a penalty Real won 1-0 about Athletic Bilbao.
The kick was granted after a review of the VAR, while Bilbao had its own penalty appeal rejected, prompting Bartomeu to question the fairness of the technology.
"I saw the game in Bilbao and, although I don't like to repeat it, I will repeat that the VAR is not being used as it should," he said.
"Since the season returned after the Covid-19 crisis, it has not been the same, this has been reflected in the results and it seems that it always favors the same team."
In response, Real coach Zinedine Zidane said he was "tired" of his team's victories being criticized.
