Lagos records another COVID-19 death

The Lagos state government confirmed another Saturday COVID-19 death in the state, bringing total fatality to Nigeria's commercial nerve center to 19.

The state Ministry of Health reported this in its daily coronavirus update posted on Twitter.


The ministry recognized the 80 new infections announced on Friday night by the Nigeria Disease Control Center (NCDC), which raised the total number of cases in the state to 670.

It said: “80 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 infections. Total confirmed cases in Lagos now 670.

“5 patients previously confirmed with COVID-19Lagos were transferred to the state of Ogun. Total transferred now 13.


“10 more patients with COVID-19Lagos; 3 women and 7 men, including 3 foreigners – 2 Indians and 1 Filipino were discharged after full recovery and negative tests twice in a row. With that, the number of successfully managed and discharged patients in Lagos now 117.
