Enyimba FC star Dayo Ojo and Abia Comet's Benjamin Iluyomade were released by their kidnappers after they were kidnapped on Sunday.
Dayo and Benjamin were kidnapped on returning from their team camp on Sunday after the suspension of the Professional Football League of Nigeria (NPFL) due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
They were kidnapped along the Benin-Owo Expressway, but three days later they were released, according to a statement from Enyimba.

“GREAT GREAT NEWS!” the club also tweeted on its confirmed identity. "Our midfielder, Dayo Ojo, has regained the freedom of his captors."

His release followed the combined efforts of the Aba-based club and their families.
The pair reunited with their families, the club statement said.
Ojo has seven games for the Super Eagles and participated in the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN), where Nigeria came in second.
