Feared terrorist group, ISIS took responsibility for the deadly attack on a Sikh religious complex in the Afghan capital, Kabul, which killed at least 25 people.
The Afghan Interior Ministry said the siege on Wednesday, which lasted more than an hour, was claimed by ISIS after the Taliban armed group denied responsibility for the attack, which also witnessed the wounding of eight others.
Raju Singh Sonny, a local who witnessed the attack, said a man dressed in police uniform broke into the temple in central Kabul, shot a guard and started attacking the faithful in the main hall.
"Several other attackers also entered the building and were going from room to room shooting people" Said Sonny.
According to Interior Ministry spokesman Tariq Arian, the terrorist attack was later stifled when security forces involved terrorists in a shootout and all attackers were killed.
