They are some of the most popular smartphones in the world, but if you use a Iphone, you can be careful with the text messages you open.
A new text message is circulating, which, if opened, will instantly lock your iPhone.
The message includes a series of characters in the Sindhi language, while some variations also include an emoji from the Italian flag.
When users open the message, the iPhone freezes or hangs.
EverythingApplePro shared a video of the problem in action, tweeting: “The craziest iOS text bug”.
Although the origin of the text remains uncertain, 9to5Mac claims that the original source appears to have been a telegram group.
He explained: "Now it’s going viral in Twitter and other social media platforms, however, it is worth being aware of.
"It can theoretically spread to any application, including Twitter, Messaging and more."
Fortunately, the problem appears to have been fixed in the latest beta update for iOS 13.4.5, although this is not yet available to everyone.
9to5Mac added: "Generally, Apple releases a fix for these issues quickly, so we should expect iOS 13.4.2 or even iOS 13.4.5 to be released to everyone sooner or later."
In the meantime, if you get the text and the iPhone crashes, luckily you can restart the device and things will be back to normal.
And if you really want to make sure your iPhone is safe, try turning notifications off.
