Odion Ighalo predicted striker Mason Greenwood will become an extremely important player for Manchester United in the next two or three seasons.
Greenwood enjoyed an innovative season for the Red Devils, with the teenager having scored 12 goals in all competitions for the senior team.
Despite the form of Greenwood and his colleague Marcus Rashford, United needed to bring more firepower in January as they were too dependent on their rising stars after not replacing Romelu Lukaku last summer.
That's where Ighalo came in, lending from the Chinese side Shanghai Shenua until the end of the season.
And the Nigerian striker was not disappointed, having scored four goals in three matches for the club he supported as a boy.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer praised the impact the 30-year-old veteran had on young people like Greenwood – who Ighalo says has a bright future at Old Trafford.
"He is very young and exciting. Very good player, left and right, he can kick and score goals," said Ighalo of Greenwood during a live performance on Instagram.
"He is a player for the future of Man United. He is doing well now, but in two or three years he will be doing very, very well."
Ighalo also spoke about Paul Pogba, who was returning to his normal state before the coronavirus pandemic interrupted the football season.
