Gunmen abduct two Heartland players in Ondo

Gunmen on Sunday night he kidnapped two players from Owerri's Heartland Football Club.

The players – Dayo Ojo and Benjamin iluyomade – were kidnapped by the bandits along the Benin-Akure highway in Ondo State.


The two were traveling to Akure after the club declared a holiday for the team due to the COVID -19 pandemic in the country.

Ondo state police command spokesman Tee-Leo Ikoro confirmed the kidnapping of the players.


He said police detectives were sent by the command to rescue the players.
