Google releases Android 11 beta 1 update for its Pixel phones with a focus on & # 39; people, control & privacy & # 39; – Technology News, Firstpost

Google launched Android 11 Beta 1 for your Pixel phones. The company was due to launch the update through an online event on June 3, but postponed in light of the US protests over the death of George Floyd, a 46-year-old African American. Google finally canceled the event, but presented the first beta.

"Today’s launch looks different than originally planned. Instead of a live broadcast event, we’re sharing some videos and online resources to consume at your own pace, when the time is right for you" said Google.

Those using a Pixel 2 or later can install the preview by signing up for the company's beta program.

The update brought by Google claims to focus on three aspects: people, control and privacy.

The options for people will focus on communication. A new bubble feature will be introduced, allowing users to easily access chat while working on something else.

Some new additions are also being brought in for keyboard suggestions and voice control, with more context recognition, making these tools a little more intuitive.

The search engine giant via Android 11 is expected to bring improvements in controlling connected devices. Pressing the power button on Android 11 will open a control center for devices such as headphones, TVs and speakers.

The update will make it easier to control your privacy settings. Android 11 will offer more granular controls for the most sensitive permissions.

“With unique permissions, you can give applications access to the microphone, camera or location, just once. The next time the app needs to access these sensors, it will need to request your permission again, ”said the company.

In addition, if a user has not used an application for a long period of time, the update will "automatically reset" all permissions associated with that application and notify you about it.

Google announced the first Android 11 developer preview in February and was available for select Pixel phones, including Google Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Pixel 3A and Pixel 4. Those who own one of these devices can still download the preview of the Android 11 developer.
