The federal government on Saturday sent troops to combat bandit attacks and related violent activities in Katsina
Governor Aminu Bello Masari disclosed this during a Hausa media chat in Katsina.
Masari said troops from state and federal government soldiers would be sent to Katsina to combat bandit activity in the state.
During the chat, the governor also emphasized that security issues were not under his control, but were dealt with by the federal government, which controls the military and other armed forces.

The federal government, he added, supplies its weapons and logistics necessary to defend the country
The Nation's investigation revealed virtually all six areas of the local government of Bakori, Batsari, Safana, Sabuwa, Faskari and Kankara, being constantly dominated by daily attacks by unrepentant thugs
Masari also suggested that the blockade order will be relaxed starting next week for residents to celebrate the next Sallah.
