Ekiti Governor Dr. Kayode Fayemi congratulated former Lagos State Governor Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who turns 68 on Sunday.
Dr. Fayemi describes Tinubu as a leader of leaders, who paid his debts in the political firmament of the country and beyond, thus earning the respect of everyone and from all sides of the world.
“Indeed, Asiwaju's actions inspire us – his admirers – to dream more, learn more, do more and become more.
"He is a political colossus who will continue to add to Nigeria's political landscape for many years to come," Fayemi said in a statement to Ado-Ekiti.
Fayemi noted that Tinubu's political career started well when he was elected senator on behalf of the senatorial district of Lagos Oeste, Lagos State in 1992 and has since continued to be an important factor in the country's politics through his numerous leadership roles, notably as opposition leader exiled to the military dictatorship and his path to finding roles in the current democratic dispensation since the beginning in 1999.
“While I wish you a happy birthday, I wish to observe as one of your admirers that you really paid your debts and your birthday has become a festival, even though COVID-19 prevented us from a deserved celebration in your honor.
"In the name of my family, the government and the good people of the State of Ekiti, the Land of Honor, I wish our indefatigable leader many more productive years in the service of our homeland, even if you maintain your charm and political wit," he said. Fayemi.
