Drogba Voted Ligue 1’s Top Striker Of The Last 20 Years

Chelsea and Ivory Coast legend Didier Drogba has been voted the best Ligue 1 striker by French fans for the past 20 years.

Drogba's choice as the league's top player for the past two decades was announced on Saturday on Twitter.

"Former striker @OM_English and @EAGuingamp has been voted by you fans as the top Ligue 1 striker for the past 20 years!"

During his time in the French league, Drogba played in Le Mans, Guingamp and Marseille.

Despite spending just one season in Marseille (2003/2004), he was the winner of the 1993 Champions League that Drogba impressed, scoring 19 goals in 35 games in all competitions.

He helped Marseille to the UEFA Cup final (now Europa League), where they lost 2-0 to Valencia in the final.

He crowned his last stint in France by winning the National Union of Professional Footballers (UNFP) Player of the Year award.

He left Marseille and joined Chelsea in 2004 and won the Premier League, League Cup, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League.
