Donald Trump welcomed the LSU football team on Friday after winning the College Football Playoff national championship earlier this week.
Coach Ed Orgeron and quarterback Joe Burrow were present when Trump congratulated the Tigers for their remarkable season. LSU went 15-0 while establishing the school and conference records with its dominant offense. LSU ended with seven wins against the top 10 AP teams and four wins against the top five AP teams.
Trump made many comments about LSU's success, but couldn't resist talking about himself at times. One such comment was about the impeachment trial he is currently facing.
While talking about the Oval Office and photos of "some bad" past presidents, Trump took a moment to praise himself.
"They got a good one now," he said. "Even if they're trying to remove a b-son, can you believe that?"
Following Trump's speech, Burrow handed him a football shirt with "Trump" on the nameplate, along with number 45.
Trump joked, initially thinking that Burrow would hand him the Heisman trophy.
Trump praised LSU, saying in part: "This LSU team will long be remembered as one of the greatest in the history of college football."
