The meeting, as at the time of this report, was still in progress. However, the task force is expected to report to President Buhari on the second phase of the blocking facility announced two weeks ago.

This report will guide the President in making decisions about efforts to curb the spread of Coronavirus in the country.

Nigeria witnessed an increase in COVID-19 cases on Saturday, registering more than 500 new infections in a single day for the first time.

According to the Nigeria Disease Control Center (NCDC), this brings the country's total number of infections to 9,855, of which 2,856 have been discharged and 273 fatalities have been reported.
