The Federal Supreme Court, Abuja, on Monday dismissed a lawsuit filed by Natasha Akpoti, Social Democratic Party, SDP, Candidate in the November 16 elections, Governance in Kogi State, against Governor Yahaya Bello, for lack of legitimacy.

Judge Inyang Ekwo, who handed down the sentence, considered the alleged offense to be a criminal offense, not a civil case that could be brought by an individual.

The judge therefore declared that the plaintiff does not have the legal right to pursue the case by requesting the removal of Bello, as governor of the state of Kogi.

Remember, that Judge Ekwo had on December 6, 2019, set on January 20, to judge the suit seeking the disqualification of Governor Bello, for alleged double registration as a voter.
