The All Progressives Congress (APC) raised $ 258.27 million from the purchase of expression of interest and nomination forms by twelve aspiring governors who were vying for the party's entry into the government primary on July 20.
One office showed that the acting governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and ten other male aspirants, paid N247: 50 million at the rate of N22.5 million for each candidate's expression of interest and form of nomination.
The only female aspirant on the list, Ms. Olajumoke Olubusola Anifowoshe, however, paid £ 11.25 million. This is in line with the guidelines in the timetable and activity schedule for the 2020 government primary elections in Ondo State, as released by the party.
From the guidelines, the expression of interest form was sold at N2.5 million, while the nomination form was N20 million.
At the end of the presentation of the forms of expression of interest and nomination on Thursday, the twelve aspirants obtained and sent their forms.
At the top of the list is the acting governor, Arakunrin Akeredolu, who is looking for a second term.
Three aspirants who contested the party's ticket with the 2016 primary election presidents, Chief Olusola Oke, Dr. Michael Olusegun Abraham and Chief Olubukola Adetula are also in the running again for the party's ticket.
Also in the race is the party's founding state president, chief Isaac Duerimini Kekemeke, former deputy secretary of the National Assembly, chief Olayide Adelami, amb. Olusola Iji, Odimayo Okunjiml, Ifeoluwa Olusola Oyedele, Awodeyi Akinsehinwa Akinola and Dr. Nathaniel Olumuyiwa Adojutelegan.
The group's only female aspirant, Ms. Anifowoshe, is the daughter of the former executive governor of the former State of Ones, chief Adekunle Ajasin.
Meanwhile, the publication of complaints and objections for aspirants is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, July 6 and 7, while screening for aspirants takes place on Wednesday, July 8.
The screening feature appears on Friday, July 10.
The primary election of the Ondo State APC government takes place on Monday, July 20, and the appeal is scheduled for Wednesday, July 22.
