… Supports Waziri Bulama
The Northeast National Vice President of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Salihu Mustapha, ran for the FCT Supreme Court to override the order, making him the party's Acting National Secretary.
The Superior Court of FCT in Maitama presided over the Hon. Justice S.U. Bature had issued an order last week that Mustapha should be allowed to serve as the party's Acting National Secretary.
Mustapha, who immediately rejected the order, said he was aware that such a request was made in March, but the zone's recent resolution endorsed Arc's nomination. Waziri Bulama, for the office of the APC National Secretary, who is referred to the NEC for ratification, overcame that Court appeal.
According to him, stakeholders from the Northeast, which involved Senate President Ahmed Lawan, Secretary of the Federation Government (SGF) and all APC Governors and members of the region's National Assembly, met and endorsed Bulama's nomination for National Secretary and referred to the NEC for ratification.
He refuted the publication of a national newspaper that he was unaware of in the court suite.
According to him, it is malicious for someone to publish that he was not aware of the suite in the Superior Court of FCT intending to make him Acting National Secretary, but he just said that he had not continued the suite since his zone had resolved Bulama's nomination.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja, Mustapha said, I ordered that the suite and the order that made me the APC Acting National Secretary were eliminated.
“I was part of the APC stakeholders from the northeast who knew and endorsed the appointment of Arc Bulama and cannot go to court to seek that position again.
“We at N / E APC believe in Arc's competence. Bulama and appointed him to the waiting position for his ratification by the party's National Executive Committee (NEC).
“I am attacking the suite that entered in March because I believe that the problem has been solved and because of the party's interest and peace.
In fact, the lawyers who received that order are my lawyers. Sometimes, in early March, I would look for that order when the party was in crisis. But after that period, as a zone, we had a political solution that culminated in a meeting of the zone's executive committee, with the participation of the SGF, the president of the senate, the three governors of the zone, former governors, all senators and members of the Chamber of Deputies of the zone.
“At that meeting, we endorsed Arch's candidacy. Waziri Bulama as the party's national secretary, which we must refer to the NEC for ratification. The decision was unanimous. This decision took place on Saturday last week, we returned to Abuja and, on Wednesday or Thursday, the Court of Appeal confirmed the suspension of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as the national president of our party.
“Between the moment we reached the political solution that Bulama endorsed and the moment the court withdrew Oshiomhole was just three days and my lawyers were not aware that we had already reached that decision. And I didn't question them either.
“But as we speak, we are making all the arrangements with my lawyers to seek to discontinue and terminate the prayer we made in court, because for me the zone’s decision replaces any other prayer pending in court. We will void the request to allow the name of architect Bulama to be sent to NEC for ratification as the national secretary of our party. "
Likewise, the party chief said he also knows that the FCT Supreme Court granted national deputy secretary, Victor Giadom, an order to serve as APC's national president in March and the renewal on June 16.
He said: “I am very aware of this 6607 process. In fact, I was the one who instituted it earlier, asking that Victor Giadom be appointed interim national president, so that we would convene the NEC meeting of the National Executive Committee and submit the party to the NEC. . This order was granted in March and the court, for its magnanimity, renewed this order and we are still committed to the realization of the NEC, so that the part is submitted ”
He said that, as a party member and member of the Labor Committee, his interest was in the party's smooth running.
According to him, no agitation was premised on the desire to occupy a prominent position in the party, but to strengthen it for more acceptability, so he did not accept the position of National Secretary given to him by the court.
He asked party leaders to convene an NEC meeting, where all problems that challenge party unity are resolved.
