Daniel Akpeyi's agent, Mohammed Lawal, has confined interest in his client from clubs in Europe and Asia, reports Completesports.com.
Akpeyi has been huge for the Glamor Boys between the sticks this season. He led the race for the season's goalkeeper award before PSL's action was interrupted by the coronavirus.
His agent, Lawal, informed Independent Media that his client is wanted abroad.
“Yes, there is an interest in Daniel's services. I will not give you the names of the clubs. There is interest from Belgium, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, ”said Lawal.
“At the moment, it’s not what we’re considering. Daniel is a Kaizer Chiefs player. Chiefs recently renewed their contract only in January. So, as it is now, it is not in our hands to decide. These clubs need to talk to the bosses first and we’ll take you from there. He extended his contract for two more seasons, ”said Lawal.
Akpeyi is also the current goalkeeper of the Nigeria national team. At last year's African Nations Cup in Egypt, he helped the Super Eagles reach the semifinals.
“Obviously, when a player is still active, he will always aspire to move abroad. For now, he will not move just by moving. At the moment, he is firmly focused on the Chiefs and on how he will help the club win titles during the term of the contract, ”said Lawal.
