Twenty people have recovered and have already been discharged from the Isolation Centers in the state of Gombe.
The commissioner for health and acting president of the state task force at COVID-19, Dr. Ahmed Ghana, confirmed this on Friday at the daily press briefing on COVID-19's progress in the state.
According to him, the discharge went through the Federal Teaching Hospital, the Specialized State Hospital and the Kwadon Isolation Centers.
He also warned members of the public against stigmatizing patients with COVID-19 or even survivors.
“There should be no stigma, they are clean and we issue a certificate of health. They tested negatives twice before being discharged, the general public should accept them and not stigmatize them, ”he said.
"Those discharged must be ambassadors for COVID-19, they must educate their families and those around them that COVID-19 is real."
Meanwhile, Ghana said the government is making plans to strengthen security in the various isolation centers.
