Ahmed Ghana, the State Health Commissioner announced this on Friday, May 8, 2020, during the daily briefing on COVID-19 in the state.
According to him, patients were discharged from the isolation centers of the Federal Teaching Hospital of Gombe; State Specialized Hospital, Gombe; and Kwadon insulation installation.
Ghana said patients were twice negative for the infection before being released from isolation centers.
“The Nigeria Disease Control Center has given us the go-ahead to release twenty patients from our isolation centers. This is twice negative for the virus after treatment " he said.
The commissioner also said that the state government is strengthening its security apparatus to prevent law and order from breaking amid a state pandemic.
Also speaking at the briefing, the State Commissioner for Education, Habu Dahiru urged state residents to show love and support for coronavirus survivors.
He said, “We issued a clean bill of health. They tested negative twice before being discharged. The general public must accept them and not stigmatize them. Those discharged must be ambassadors for COVID-19, they must educate their families and those around them that COVID-19 is real. "
On Thursday, May 7, 2020, the Nigeria Disease Control Center (NCDC) announced 381 new cases in the country, of which six were registered in the state of Gombe.
The new cases in the state have raised the total number of confirmed cases in Gombe to 109 cases.
