First six vehicles worth $ 1,138,718 were stolen from 12 different dealers from March 17, according to a Winston-Salem Police Department news release.
The thefts happened during 18 burglaries, and police said several dealers were targeted twice. All but six of the vehicles were recovered.
Police said they have not been able to arrest minors.
"Detectives have identified 19 (19) juveniles known to be involved in these thefts," the press release states. "These juveniles range from sixteen (16) to nine (9) years. Detectives have sought, and so far have been denied, safe custody orders from the Forsyth County Department of Juvenile Justice for the juveniles involved."
Police have arrested an adult suspected of being involved in the crimes.
Mekeal Binns, 19, was arrested on March 25 and charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, resisting arrest and violation of probation. He is being held on $ 20,000.
Binn's attorney, Andrew Keever, told CNN he has no statement at this time.
Police are working with local dealers to protect them from further theft.
